On March 12, 2023, a Fujian Airlines Y-7 aircraft, carrying 42 passengers and eight crew members, was hijacked to Taiwan. The hijackers, a Chinese couple accompanied by their 11-year-old daughter, demanded the aircraft be flown to Taiwan.
