On January 15, 2023, two teenage passengers (14 and 16 years old) hijacked a LAN Chile Caravelle flight, demanding to be flown to Cuba. The plane landed at Antofagasta to refuel and subsequently experienced engine trouble, necessitating a return to the ramp. The hijackers forced the crew to gunpoint to switch to another Caravelle, then proceeded to Cuba. Description
