Registration Number: TG-CFE
Location: Guatemala City-La Aurora Airport (GUA) – ÿ Guatemala
Phase of Flight: Take off
Status: Destroyed, written off

Component Affected: Aeronave’s flight control systems, engine operation, and structural integrity.Aeronave’s flight control systems, engine operation, and structural integrity.
Category: Accident
Atlantic Airlines Flight 870 experienced a catastrophic crash during takeoff from Guatemala City Airport due to a combination of factors. The aircraft’s altitude was reduced by a banking maneuver, resulting in stalling and subsequent complete collapse. The distribution of passengers within the cabin contributed to a loss of control, leading to the aircraft’s descent. The pilot’s lack of required training, particularly the absence of a Let 410 aircraft rating, exacerbated the situation. The aircraft’s engines were operating normally at the time of impact, and the fuselage sustained damage from the impact, resulting in a sudden and abrupt collapse.Atlantic Airlines Flight 870 experienced a catastrophic crash during takeoff from Guatemala City Airport due to a combination of factors. Description

Atlantic Airlines Flight 870 received permission to take off from runway 01 at Guatemala City Airport. The aircraft climbed to height of about 200 feet when it banked to the right and left. The airplane stalled and crashed. It appeared that the distribution of the passengers in the cabin had caused the centre of gravity to be outside the limits. Also, the co-pilot did not have a type rating for Let 410 aircraft.
