On October 26, 2023, Guatemalan authorities detected four unauthorized aircraft entering the country’s airspace. One of these aircraft, a corporate jet registered as XB-BZH, was subsequently located on an illegal airstrip in Quich. Investigation revealed the aircraft was destroyed by fire and was suspected of being used for the trafficking of narcotics, with the fire likely resulting from its use in this illicit activity. Guatemalan military forces detected four aircraft illegally entering the country’s airspace. One of these aircraft was later located on an illegal airstrip in Quich. The registration on the tail fin was partially washed out and read “XB-BZH” or similar. The aircraft likely involved was msn 164, last officially registered as XB-BBO.
