A DC-6 aircraft crashed on a hill after takeoff near Panama, resulting in fire and subsequent burning. The aircraft was reported to be owned by two previous operators: c/n 44654 and c/n 45078. Description
The Salvadorean DC-6 reportedly suffered an engine fire just after takeoff. The aircraft then crashed and burnt on a hill. It was on its way to Panama. There is some uncertainty regarding the identity of the plane. FAS is reported the have owned 2 DC-6 aircraft: c/n 44654 (acquired from USAF) and c/n 45078 (acquired from TACA). The latter was probably registered FAS301.
