On October 26, 2023, at approximately 700-800 feet, a C-47 aircraft carrying a crew of five pilots and passengers crashed in Hong Kong. The aircraft lost control and crashed, resulting in the fatalities of W/O (1522726) Alastair Christie, W/O (1208876) Rex Neville Blackmore, and F/Sgt (1624960) John Kendall. The incident occurred during a climb to a height of 700-800 feet, and the cause is currently under investigation. Description

The C-47 departed Hong Kong runway 31, climbing to a height of 700-800 feet. At that point the airplane lost control and crashed. The Dakota possibly stalled after encountering turbulence from the foothills.
