A glider tow mission during Operation Market Garden resulted in a crash when an aircraft was struck by a blizzard (Flak) in the left wing. The aircraft was forced to release the glider, leading to a landing attempt at Haamstede. The pilot, Major J.A. Beck, and co-pilot Captain F.O. Lorimor were shot after landing, and the navigator V.J. Paterno and engineer T/Sgt. C.E. Patterson were injured. The radio operator S.V.E. Gillespie and engineer T/Sgt. V.E. Description
