A Curtiss C-46 Commando transport plane crashed near Bogot -Eldorado Airport (BOG) in Colombia, resulting in the deaths of all eight passengers. The aircraft, HK-2716, had experienced a gear collapse incident at Rionegro/Medell¡n-Jos‚ Mar¡a C¢rdova Airport (MDE) on September 23, 1991. Repairs were completed, and the plane was scheduled to be returned to Bogot  on December 11. Description

A Curtiss C-46 Commando transport plane was destroyed in an accident near Bogot -Eldorado Airport (BOG), Colombia. All eight aboard were killed. The airplane, HK-2716, had been involved in a gear collapsed incident at Rionegro/Medell¡n-Jos‚ Mar¡a C¢rdova Airport (MDE) on September 23, 1991. Repairs were carried out and the plane was to be ferried back to Bogot  on December 11. While descending towards Bogot , the airplane flew into the side of a hill.
