A Bombardier DHC-8-Q402, operated by Oriental Air Bridge, experienced a near-miss incident during taxiing at Tsushima Airport. A black kite collided with propeller blades, resulting in damage to the aircraft’s right side of the fuselage and a chipped blade on the leading edge. The aircraft was grounded for 15 cm and 12 cm respectively, and eight successive flights were cancelled. Description
A Bombardier DHC-8-Q402, operated by Oriental Air Bridge as ORC/OC79 from Fukuoka to Tsushima, was taxiing on the runway after landing at Tsushima when a black kite collided with propeller blades of the No. 2 engine. The aircraft was grounded since a blade was chipped off for 15 cm and the right side of the fuselage was deformed for 12 cm x 15 cm. There were no persnal injuries. Eight successive flights were cancelled. JTSB launched an accident investigation two days later.
