In October 1978, Uganda’s Prime Minister Idi Amin initiated a military operation to annex the Kagera Salient in Tanzania. Julius Nyererre, the Tanzanian president, responded by deploying troops into Uganda, supported by the Uganda National Liberation Front (UNLF). Description
