On December 9, 1984, a hijacking occurred involving a Pakistani-registered aircraft en route from Dubai (DXB) to Karachi (KHI). Four heavily armed Arabs hijacked the aircraft and transported 153 passengers and crew to Tehran (THR). The hijackers demanded the release of 17 prisoners, jailed in Kuwait for bomb attacks on U.S. and French installations.
