Description
Left main gear of the Ilyushin Il-18 collapsed after touchdown, causing the aircraft to slid off runway. All seven crew members and ten passengers evacuated to safety before the Il-18 was incinerated by post-accident fire. Chinese and Vietnamese investigators concluded that the Il-18 was overloaded above its maximum landing weight.
