Description
SAETA flight 011, a Vickers Viscount, struck a mountainside in Pastaza Province, Ecuador, killing all 57 occupants. The flight went missing on a domestic service from Quito to Cuenca. The aircraft departed Quito at 07:08 in the morning and was expected to land at Cuenca at 08:00, but failed to arrive. The wreckage was was found 5 years later on high ground, 25nm off track at an elevation of 18000 feet.
